Basement shelves

I built these shelves for our entertainment room a while back, which complement similar built-in shelves I put in my husband’s library. We’re trying to avoid the books stacked on books problems, especially after retrieving boxes of books from storage. They’re nothing fancy, particle board painted mission tile red with oak trim along the front of the shelves, which also keeps the shelves from sagging. It’s actually six individual shelf units, tied together with hardwood (is it basswood?) moulding.
